Our Company
Our Edo Tsumami Kanzashi started likes as a hobby of a ribbon flower artist. At first, she simply attached ribbon flowers to small hairpins. One day, the artist had been to Kyoto, saw below looks picture at the town of Gion. There were the Kyoto Maiko-huaaan (apprentice geisha), was attracted to the hairpins that decorate the hair of the maiko han. The artist research and study of the history of edo kanzashi hairpins, created own Edo Tsumami Kanzashi.
Our Edo Tsumami Kanzashi isn’t traditional Kyoto. It’s artist’s love for small flowers and the beautiful Kanzashi of the maiko han that saw in Kyoto.
The artist is a pure Japanese who grew up in the downtown area of Japan. She is bad at English so not able to speak, read, and write. Take a look at her prodcts, which she creates by reading, writing, thinking, and creating in Japanese.
Who is?
Birth in Shinjuku Tokyo Japan. Why have been in California? I never realized nothing, living in California now. Because bad at English? At all….. I have nothing to do every day, so have alot of time and … I returaned making Edo tsumami Kanzashi, were ordered for a my friend’s party in Tokyo. Also I have focused on making art, that can be framed and hung on the wall, rather than just for hair decoration. I will be able to only make a max of them, but I hope to get people outside of Japan interested in them.
